Trent Lott on BET wrapup: Not as bad I as I thought, although he seems quite ready to sell out any sort of conservative agenda to gain forgiveness. Which is possibly the worst possible outcome of this. This performance IS the nail in the coffin. The waffling Lott CANNOT stay majority leader. Otherwise, any item on the Republican agenda that isn't agreeable to the African-American lobby and the Congressional Black Caucus will be portrayed as a betrayal of Lott's promises to Ed Gordon and the black community. Speaking of which, thumbs up to Ed Gordon. Skewered Lott quite well, backing him into a corner on every vulnerable issue. If you missed it, there's a replay at 11:30 EST.
