I've like to comment on this from Bill Simmons (see 9C): Just an unbelievable reality-TV month: "Real World: San Diego"; "The Bachelorette"; "The Surreal Life"; "The Apprentice"; the climax of "Real World/Road Rules"; and "Newlyweds" and the "Survivor All-Stars" on deck. Sweet Jesus. This is a whole other column..
Survivor 7: Decent ending, first winner I didn't hate since Ethan, or maybe even Rich. Darrah should have won, and could have if not for that dumb "Jury gets immunity" twist. Sandra, Lill, and Jon should be ashamed by getting their asses kicked by her. And, I truly believe that Jon would have beaten Lill. Darrah was still way too pissed at Lill to vote for her, and that's 4.
Survivor All Stars: How can this possibly suck?
Celebrity Mole: Yucatan: I still want civilians, and I still want Anderson Cooper, and the reruns are coming to Game Show Network, but the concept rocks so much that you cannot screw it up.
The Apprentice: Mark Burnett, you are indeed the Evil Pecker. Use the same editing techniques and fonts as Survivor, even the opening is SO similar. And Sam, who would be fired, but he's ratings gold. And next week, he becomes the team leader. So of course the men should win. And it's SOOOOO good.
RW: San Diego: Frankie is insane. Casting directors hit the jackpot with her. And honestly, how much face time will Jamie get this season. 22 minutes? 24?
The rest: I'll be honest. I don't watch American Idol, the Bachelor/ette, haven't followed the Gauntlet (except in marathon reruns), and never got into Newlyweds (Jessica Simpson is too dumb for me).
If you don't hear from me, check out the sidebar, it's good stuff.
