Bleh: Forgot the essay. It should still be relevant in a week, at which point I can update it as well.

Survivor tonight here goes to 6, then 5 in the US on Thursday, then the finale that I'll be home for on Sunday. Expect thoughts on that on the 9th as the first of my efforts to create a daily posting regimen.

Apprentice here tonight too, against the formidable Rove Live. It's a risk by Nine, and I'm interested in seeing the ratings war. Of course, I know what happened (COUCHED SPOILER), as the girls apparently pulled a Sook Jai. If you don't know, it's probably better.

If the focus on Reality TV is too much for you, too bad. There's an article in Harper's that I haven't read yet called "Voting Democracy Off the Island: Reality TV and the Republican Ethos" and I fully plan to critically analyze it. Also, if anyone has any articles written recently about the death of reality TV (and I've seen a lot, just in the Australian papers), send them to me as this is part of my project to defend the genre (that's right, defend. I'm one of the few who will.) This isn't an official bleg yet, but there will be one soon.
