Day 3, just a news link and a book review:

The link: Teacher suspended for washing student's mouth out with soap. No further comment.

And the review, the second this week. Let's go with...Distraction by Bruce Sterling. It's a dystopia novel, which I tend to love. In this one, the US is going to hell with 16 political parties and drowning cities, and a Cold War...against the Dutch. After a successful run with a Senatorial campaign, Oscar Valparaiso is sent to a laboratory in Texas as part of his new role on the Senate Science Committee. He thinks it will be an easy assignment, but instead, a turf war with the Governor of Louisiana turns Oscar's lab project into a national crisis, bringing to a head all the problems that exist in the dystopia. It's a delightful romp, funny, but poignant. Accept the premise and let the story roll.
