DNC Thoughts I:

Just watched Terry McAuliffe's speech to the convention, and it was awful, as usual. Why he's not gone yet, I don't know, and I don't say that as partisan sniping. This was one of your classic "let's throw as many themes into a speech as possible and see what sticks" speech. I hate these. You had your Supreme Court 2000 gripe, your "uniter, not a divider" ("Well, the Democrats are united!") sneer, something about "Mission Accomplished" (I think it was because of the DNC getting out of debt and building a new building, and being better, or something or other that I didn't care about). This wasn't even flying on the floor, where the delegates barely acknowledged these obvious rhetorical tosses. So at least they have that going for them.

Theme? We don't need no stinkin' theme!
