Friday link dump!:
Google Blogoscoped talks about the possible applications for the improved translation features in Google. It's a little creepy and a lot interesting.
Cubes was in DC this week, watching the NBA playoffs at McFadden's. I didn't run into him, but Kelly Ann Collins and the Washington Socialites crew did. Check out the pictures, as Cuban looks even more kooky than usual.
A blog entry helps solve a murder. I hadn't realized that Den Beste was blogging again, even if it's an anime blog, and not politics.
Dave Miley removes chairs from Reds' clubhouse. Adam Dunn's stand-up in full gear here. "He was asked if the chair was also designated for assignment, giving the club 10 days to trade, release or outright it to the Minors."
Obviously, it worked though, as the Reds swept the Nats, prompting Jim Bowden to make nine roster moves, including the designating for assignment of Claudio Vargas, who's been horrible. Read more about the Nats' moves at Nationals Review.
Finally, I'd like to note that in presenting the Reds link above, BSG intern Kevin Cott went with one of the less funny jokes in the entire piece as his commentary. Just saying. Meanwhile, Theresa MacDonald takes on a topic I dealt with on Wednesday, Rob and Amber Get Married. And does it in a much more fulfilling way than I do. By the way, I should update the previous post, as Theresa actually emailed me back. Highlights: the poop joke was an inside joke, and word limitations curtailed some of the jokes I felt could have been there. I'm not sucking up, though, I swear.
