Category: "Items I should have posted a week and a half ago"

I finished the latest Harry Potter last week. Don't worry, no spoilers here. Certainly interesting, filling in more and more backstory (I'm convinced Rowling could do a set of prequels on the days of Voldemort/the Potter parents/Snape, etc. at Hogwarts). And the last 200 or so pages are dynamite, as always. There's lots of criticism of Rowling out there in terms of being a fantasy writer, but as an avid reader, all you really need is a good story and the rest tends to fill itself in, and Rowling certainly has that. Of course, book seven's the payoff. And we wait.
